Frequently asked questions

Easy! Just give your Fae name, your human name, and which Chapter you'd like to join to Cricket the Fairy in whatever way is most convenient for you. The quickest way is to join the Facebook group and answer the 3 questions.

Just let us know that you haven’t come up with one yet. If you'd like some help, we have a Counsel of Naming standing by to give you options in the Guild Facebook Group!  If you don’t intend to create a character then unfortunately, we cannot allow you entrance into the Guild because this particular Guild is Fae only!

Your home faire is the festival that you normally attend as your character. You will be listed in one festival only, even if you're a traveling Fae that considers multiple festivals home.  This is so we don't misrepresent our numbers by having more than one Fae name per human.  Don’t have a home faire? No problem! That makes you a part of the Wyldfae Chapter. This Chapter is full of magical creatures from many different places with no specific festival to call home.

All of your characters get to be members vicariously through one! If more than one character is listed in the join request, the first one listed will be the one that gets added to the membership roster.

We loosely define Fae as any creature of fairy tale origins.  Some examples include elves, werewolves, goblins, gnomes, trolls, merfolk, fauns, pixies, brownies, selkies, giants, vampires, dryads, kelpies, changelings, naiads, nymphs, centaurs, redcaps, harpies, and many more.  The Guild is NOT just for fairies!

Every festival will have a Chapter Leader who is tasked with organizing gatherings, scheduling meetups and photo ops, and doing what they can to grow their Chapter. This Fae will work with other Leaders in the Guild to guide new members and make sure their Chapter is upholding the standards of the Guild.

High Fairies oversee any number of separate Chapters within their region.  They are responsible for creating new Chapters by finding new festivals to join the Guild, appointing and guiding Chapter Leaders, maintaining as much of a presence as possible throughout the festivals in their region, and motivating inactive Chapter Leaders to be more engaged.

No! It is where we do most of our communication, however, so if you don't then you may be missing out on events and loads of community spirit!

Guild of the Fae is strictly for Fae creatures only. If someone doesn’t have a Fae character, they will not be approved to join. The exception is that if they are in the process of creating their character, they are most welcome! Most of the time when a Facebook Group join request is declined, the 3 questions were not answered, which are 1) What is your Fae name, 2) What is your home fair, 3) Do you agree to the Group rules.  About 80% of join requests are declined because the petitioner did not answer them.  If that happens to you, reach out to any Guild member or use the Contact Us button below to submit your answers.

Absolutely not.
